National Fertilizer Marketing Limited (NFML), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Fertilizer Corporation, was incorporated in July 1976 as a Public Limited Company. Initially, NFML was assigned to market the products of the then NFC companies namely; Pak American Fertilizers Limited, Lyallpur Chemical & Fertilizers Limited. As NFC increased its production capacity by establishing new Plants, NFML assumed the total responsibility for marketing and distribution of the entire production of 2.008 Million M.Tons of NFC Fertilizer Manufacturing Plants.


Government tasked NFML to distribute Urea imported by TCP (Trading Corporation of Pakistan) with the objective to provide imported fertilizer at the desired locations and price to the farmers. NFML was operating with a skeleton staff of merely 72 employees when it received directive from the Government. With total strength of 117 employees (including 45 employees hired on contract basis), NFML commenced the challenging task of sale of Impoted Urea at farmer’s door-step.
